It is with great sadness and broken hearts that the family of Florence Ruby (Mills) Sheehan, born January 4, 1943, of Gagetown, announces her passing on October 14, 2025, at the age of 82, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, after her battle with cancer.
She was the wife of her late husband Kenny Sheehan, and the daughter of her late mother Florence Mary (Stout) Jimmo and father Michael Jimmo. She was also predeceased by her sister Elizabeth (Betty) (Mills) Jimmo and Betty’s partner Joseph McLeod of Hampstead. She is survived by her sister Marjorie Mills-Scibbans and husband Shane Scibbans of Baxters Corner.
Florence was well loved by her nephews and nieces. Her nephews include Eldon Jimmo (Lori) of Saint Catharines, ON; Melvin Perry of Sylvan Lake, AB; the late Shawn Hamm; and Paul Cathline of Gagetown. Her nieces include Kathleen Bouchie of Upham, NB; Doreen Hoolahan of Derwent, AB; Alisha Godwin of Saint John, NB; and Teresa Thompkins of Fredericton, NB.
Florence also had many great-nieces and nephews: Scott McLeod, Erica McLeod, Tim Wilson, Mike Wilson, Jessee Cathline, Jenna Cathline, Morgan, Hailey, Madison and Natalie Perry, Caressa Adams, and Braden Hamm, as well as several great-great-nieces and nephews.
Florence was a hard worker and held various jobs over the years, including at Zenith Electronics, Simms Brush Factory, and Briggs & Little Yarn Ltd., where she worked until her retirement.
She loved music and dancing and had a flair for fashion with a splash of sass. Florence was well known for her baking, sewing, and canning, and for the pride she took in her home and her work.
Florence’s family would like to thank Becky and Robert Hartt, her longtime friends and neighbors, for their kindness and friendship, which meant so much to her. A special thank you also goes to her nephew Paul Cathline for always being there to lend a hand when needed and for checking in on her from time to time.
The family would also like to extend their gratitude to all the doctors and staff of 5A South at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their excellent care and compassion toward Florence. They made her comfortable and treated her and her family with love, care, and dignity during her final days.
Florence leaves behind her three loving fur babies: Cuddles, Lucky, and Friskie.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no service. Donations made in her memory may be made to the SPCA or any charity of choice.
With heartfelt thanks,
The Family of Florence Sheehan
