Florence Gallant

It is with great sadness the family of Florence Mary Gallant (Arsenault), beloved wife of Elmer Gallant, announces her passing which occurred surrounded by her family on Feb. 15, 2021 at the SJRH. Born on Prince Edward Island on Oct 25, 1946, to the late Donat and Beatrice (Aucoin) Arsenault.

Florence was a seamstress by trade. She loved cooking and knitting in her spare time and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a faithful catholic and she enjoyed several pilgrimages to St. Anne de Beaupre with family and friends. Florence enjoyed playing cards, the crafters club and bingo, but most of all she enjoyed being a grandmother.

Florence is survived by her husband of 56 years Elmer Gallant and her three children; Elmer “Al” (Paula), Lisa (Fred) and Mona (Frank); one brother Martin (Welma) Arsenault; six precious grandchildren, Scott, Amy, Amber, Michelle, Trista, and Brittany; four step-grandchildren BJ, Kendra, Ryan and Hailey; six great-grandchildren, Kambree, Landen, Kendall, Kirstyn, Aleah, and Lisa; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Along with her parents, Florence was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters; Euclide (Julia), Edward (Beatrice), Josephine (Cyr), Louise (Delore), Anita (Expedit), Rene (Phyllis), Clarence (Sherren), Raymond, and Wilfred (Stella).

She will forever be missed by her family and friends.  

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Due to the restrictions of public health, visitation and the service will be held for immediate family by invitation only.
