Evelyn Pauline Finlay

Surrounded by her loving family, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Evelyn Pauline Finlay (Sederquest), which occurred on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at Bobby’s Hospice. Born in Upham, N.B. on July 24, 1934,

Evelyn was the daughter of the late William (Bill) Sederquest and Elsie Sederquest (Kilpatrick)

Evelyn is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, John Douglas (Doug) Finlay; daughter Cathy (Tim) Reicker of Hampton; son Peter Finlay of Lac Saint Marie, Q.C.; son John (Polly) Finlay of Saint John; her cherished grandchildren, Ashlee, Matthew, Lindsay, Alex, Kendra and Brennen; great-grandchildren Violet and Sullivan; her sisters, Jean Francis, Norma Ratcliffe, and Shirley (Larry) Crawford; brother-in-law Bill (Louise) Finlay; sister-in-law Betty Sahagian; brother-in-law Fred Connell; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Evelyn was predeceased by her brother-in-law Jack Ratcliffe; sister-in-law Louise Connell; brother-in-law Norman Francis; brother-in-law Nathan (Nat) Sahagian.

Evelyn will be remembered for her dedication to her husband Doug and to her family. 

We would like to thank the family support workers, Dr. Douglas, the Heart Function Clinic, and Bobby’s Hospice for their wonderful care and support.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (646-2424) with visitation on Saturday, August 13, 2022, from 6:00pm - 8:00pm and Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm & 6:00pm - 8:00pm. A funeral liturgy will be held on Monday, August 15, 2022, at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel.
