Eugene Francis Ritchie

It is with great sorrow the family of Eugene “Gene” Ritchie announce his passing on Thursday, August 14, 2025.  He will be fondly remembered as a husband to his wife and best friend Joan Ritchie for more than 20 years, as a father to his 1 son and 2 daughters and a grandfather.  He will also be lovingly remembered by his hunting buddies, especially Tom LeBlanc and Mike Farrell.  Gene was a proud member of the Canadian Armed Forces and was a past member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 69.  He worked for Moosehead Brewery for over 23 years and when he wasn’t working, he enjoyed any time spent, hunting, fishing, ATVing or travelling with Joan.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (506-646-2424).  In keeping with Gene’s wishes cremation has taken place and family and friends are invited to join at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery, on Manawagonish Road, on Wednesday, August 20th at 2:00 PM.  All are welcome.  For those that wish donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the SPCA would be greatly appreciated by the family.
