Obituary

With heavy hearts, the family of Eric Coston announces his passing, which occurred peacefully on Sunday, September 26th, 2021, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, with his daughters by his side. Eric was born in Bath, NB on July 23, 1947; a son of the late George and Daisy (Archer) Coston, and the loving husband of the late Janet Coston, who predeceased him on August 5th, 2021. Eric was a self-employed carpenter, and enjoyed the great outdoors, whether that was hunting, fishing, camping, or geocaching. He made many missionary trips to Guatemala and the Dominican Republic with his church, and loved picking fiddleheads, and snowplowing. Surviving are his daughters; Kimberley Kilpatrick (Stanley), Cindy Clark (Jeannot), step-daughter Sharron McPhee (Jeffrey), step-son Michael Hayden, brother Archie Coston (Ruth), sister Edna Fitzherbert (Clarence), as well as grandchildren Kendra, Ryan, Christopher, Tyler, Jacob, Katie, Jack David, Jenna, and Jessica. Along with his wife and parents, Eric was pre-deceased by his daughter Tammy Coston, brother Alfred Coston, as well as his sisters Rita Grant, Opal Fitzherbert, Marguerite Coston, and Joyce Coston.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424). Family and friends are invited to the memorial service, which will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday at 2pm, with visitation one hour prior to service time. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed here: https://view.oneroomstreaming.com/authorise.php?k=1632861192139435

At his request, remembrances to the family of Michel Remigo (Jay), a family in the Dominican Republic who was very close to Eric and Janet’s hearts would be appreciated; donations may be placed through Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Due to COVID-19 health measures placed on indoor gatherings, all those 12 and older attending visitation and service will be required to wear masks, show proof of vaccination and a piece of government issued ID.
