With great sadness, the family of Enos Cecil McCavour, announces his sudden passing into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Nov 11, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Enos was born on October 26, 1942 to the late Cecil and Elsie (Green) McCavour and was the loving husband of 55 years to Patricia (North) McCavour. He was in fellowship with those gathered to the Lord's name at the Lorneville Gospel Hall.
He will be fondly remembered for his kindness, compassion, generosity, knowledge of the Bible, and wry sense of humour. He would intuitively offer either a warm hug or handshake, words of wisdom, a Bible scripture or tract, or a joke to brighten your day no matter who you were or where he was (he was famous for his puns). He loved to cook and was well-known for his seafood chowder and fudge. The day before his passing, he made a very large pot of soup for Romero House.
Enos was a loyal employee with Irving Tissue for 40 years until his retirement. He enjoyed travelling throughout his life taking many family vacations - after retirement he and Pat enjoyed vacationing with his brother Philip and sister-in-law Judith. For 20 years, he hosted an annual horseshoe competition to promote Christian fellowship which always ended in the winner receiving an original and unique prize. Enos also enjoyed photography, day trips to gardens and parks, and attending Bible conferences. He was very proud of the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren and attended as many basketball and hockey games as possible - capturing all those special moments on camera. The last photo he took was of his granddaughter, who modelled her prom dress for him the day he passed away.
Along with his wife, Enos is survived by his children, Melanie (David) Greene, Amy (Robert) Chapman and Jonah McCavour. He is also survived by his brothers David McCavour, Philip (Judith) McCavour, sister Jane Ruga and his grandchildren, Allison Doucette, Tristan Greene, Gareth Greene, Thomas Chapman and Henry Chapman.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his son Jason McCavour, brother in-law Ruben and sister in-law Rhena.
