It is with sadness that our family announces the unexpected passing of Emmanuel George Elisseou which occurred at his residence on Thursday, June 2, 2022. Born in 1958 in Piraeus, Greece, he was the son of the late George E. Elisseou and Evangelia Halouva.
Emmanuel is survived by his daughter Angela (Kyle) Hall and his grandson Ethan of Ontario, along with his siblings; Anna (Dimitri) Kappatou and Anastasia Elisseou (Brent Kinney), Kenneth Elisseou, Thomas Elisseou, Stefanos (Tamara) Elisseou; and his nieces and nephews; Tina Kappatou, George Kappatos, Amber Farrington, Yurgos Elisseou, Athena Elisseou, Meredyth Elisseou. Also survived by Step-Children Sonia and EJ.
Emmanuel came to Canada, as a first-generation immigrant as a child with his parents. Through the years, Emmanuel was employed as a cook in various restaurants and resorts both in Canada and Internationally. During the early 1990s, he opened his own restaurant in Campbellford, Ontario. Most recently he was employed at Julius Pizza here in Saint John where he was a fixture and known for his humor, opinions, and award-winning pizza. He enjoyed the simple things in life. Emmanuel looked forward to his weekly visits with his lifelong friends for coffee at Tim Hortons where they discussed the news of the day and world events. He will be missed by his friends all across Canada, and by his close friends around the world and in Albania.
In keeping with his wishes, Manolis will be returned to his loved homeland of Greece, attended to by his family. There will be a formal visitation on Saturday, June 11th, 2022 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, and a prayer service on Sunday, June 12th at 1pm at the Fundy Funeral Home in Saint John.
