Emma Daley Obituary

The death of Emma Helen Daley, loving wife of the late Charles Gregory Daley, occurred peacefully on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at the Loch Lomond Village.  Born in 1931, in O’Leary PEI, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Phoebe (Peters) Gallant.

Above all else she was a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who deeply cherished the time she spent with each one.  She is survived by her son Michael Daley (Belinda) of Edmonton, AB; daughters Mary Lynn Capson (Bob) and Gerarda Borden (Rod) both of Saint John; sister-in-law Alice Gallant; grandchildren Curtis Daley, Angie Daley, Michelle Trainor, Jennifer Capson, Michael Capson, Ann-Marie Adams, Matthew Borden and Sarah Borden; great-grandchildren Madison, Connor, Morgan, Leah, Hunter, Claire, Wyatt, Lauren, Vera and Aubrey; several cousins nieces and nephews.  Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by her brothers; Vincent Gallant and Alban Gallant; sisters Margaret London, Bernice Dunphy and Rita Cole.

Charles and Emma bought their first home in Forest Hills in 1960, and were founding members of St. Ann’s Catholic Church where she remained very active.  Emma was very devoted to her Roman Catholic Faith and was a member of the Perpetual Adoration Society along with many local prayer groups.  She was a long-time member of NB Right to Life.  She was a 30+ year member of TOPS.  Prince Edward Island always held a very special place in her heart and she cherished her island roots.  She was looking forward to returning to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Bloomfield, PEI, over the summer for their reunion.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424), with visiting on Tuesday from 3:00 until 8:00 PM.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at 10:00 am from St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
