It is with heavy hearts that the family of J. Elmer Boudreau announces his passing, that occurred at home on Thursday August 6, 2020. Born in Bathurst in 1938 to the late Worry and Artauntes (Duguay) Boudreau.
Elmer was the owner/operator of Elmer’s Trucking for many years until his retirement in 2003. He was a comedian who always had a good joke to tell and a hardworking man, that enjoyed listening to old country music. Elmer was a boxer in his earlier years and continued to be an avid boxing fan.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 45 years, Brenda (Calhoun) Boudreau; his children Jean Guy (Jeanie), Wayne, Sharon (Norm), Philip, Linda, Gary (Melissa), Brenda (Matthew), Susan (Dave), Lee, Sherry Lynn (Darrell) and Lee (Tricia) Calhoun; his caregivers Krista Hatfield and Kim Ackerson; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his canine companion Princess.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his children Monique, Bruce and Jacqueline; brothers Gerald, Taphile, Albany, Theodore and Hector; sisters Anita and Theresa.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. A private family service will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
