Elizabeth Joan Muir

The peaceful passing of Elizabeth Joan Muire (nee. Cobham) of Rothesay, N.B., occurred on June 27, 2026, at the Saint John Regional Hospital with loved ones at her side.

Known to most as Betty, she was born to Doris (nee Evans) and William Cobham on November 25, 1934. Besides he parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband William “Bill” Muir, her first born son Daivd, and her sister Frances Jean Cosman.

She is survived by her children: Sharon Batten (John), Brenda Sevenson (Terry), Timothy (Mary Lynn), and Kimberly Muir; grandchildren: Melissa Sevenson (Jeannine Williams) and Jackie Sevenson (Kyle Holloway), and Jason and Erin Muir; great-grandchildren Hank and Audrey Holloway; as well as her dear feline companions Candy and Beau.

Arrangements are the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB E2J 2G3; (506) 646-2424. As per Betty’s request there will be no visitation or service. A private gathering for immediate family has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations in Betty’s memory can be made to the Red Head Strays or Carma.
