Another angel in heaven today as Elizabeth “Betty” Fowler passed away surrounded by the love of her family at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday May 16, 2026, at the age of 84 years old. Born in Chatham, NB, on July 14, 1941, she was the beloved daughter of the late Murton and Loretta (Nee. Quinn) Dickson.
Betty enjoyed the simple joys in life, like driving with Gerald in the convertible, daily walks with Buddy, and cross-country skiing. She loved attending and organizing “Country Jams” Kitchen parties in Barnesville, where laughter, music and togetherness filled the room. She was also a dedicated volunteer with senior groups and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Known for her hospitality, Betty could whip up a turkey dinner on short notice for anyone who gathered around her table
Above all else, Betty will forever be remembered as the most loving, caring, beautiful, and non-judgmental soul her family and friends ever knew. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and dear friend to so many. Family was the center of Betty’s world, and her love and presence shaped the lives of everyone around her. It was a true privilege to have had her in our lives, and our hearts will forever carry both the love she gave and the sadness of her loss.
Betty will be dearly missed by the love of her life for the last 63 years, Gerald; children Mitchell (Monica), Barry (Shelley) and Lorraine (Ralph); grandchildren Rickey, Nealya, Neve, Quinn, Jarrod and Brandon; great grandchildren Jack; sister Joan Donovan; nieces and nephews as well as many friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Murton Dickson, sister Gloria Green and brother-in-law Michael Donovan.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd, Saint John, NB, E2J 2G3; (506)646-2424; In keeping with Betty’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service at this time.
