Elijah Dollar Obituary

It is with broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved son Elijah Andrew Dollar, which occurred on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at home with his family by his side.

Born in Saint John, NB on June 6, 2003, he is the son of Ryan and Sonja (Devlin) Dollar and big brother to Avery. In addition to his parents and sister he is survived by grandparents Debbie and Mike Devlin, Barb Pike (Tom) and Wayne Dollar (Paula); great grandmother Bev Campbell; beloved pets Hazel, Oliver and Cleo; uncles and aunts: Josh Devlin, Cherilyn Dollar (Todd), Nick Pike, Linda and Deke Yeomans, Rob and Christine Campbell, Ann and Dick Quigg, Judy Pike, Ruthie and Bruce Campbell, Ken and Cathy Pike, Susan and Kevin Hanley, and Charles and Pat Dollar; close cousins Ben, Garret, Annika, Victoria, Ryan, Ashlyn, Gavin and extended Dollar, Pike and Campbell families. He also leaves behind his girlfriend Madison MacDougall; countless friends, hockey families, and his special Treadwell crew.

He was predeceased by great grandparents Bob Campbell, Joan and Pat Brockie, Andy and Ruth Dollar, and Gladys Pike; great uncle John Pike and great aunt Dawn Mabee.

Elijah was a student of St. Malachy’s Memorial High School and a well-known goalie for the St. Mac’s Hockey Team. He was recently voted MVP for their boys’ hockey team and was awarded the W.R.D. Coffey Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Life of STM. His love and passion for the game of hockey has created memories and friendships that will be everlasting.  He never took his eyes off the puck. He will be best remembered for his love of sport, fierce competition, inner strength, courage, determination, and dedication to everything he did. He was loyal, confident yet modest, and a great friend to many.  Everyone loved his dry sense of humour and his terrific coy smile.

A special thank you to his favorite pediatric oncology nurses, Rebecca and Wendy, and the caring nurses on the pediatric floor.  Thank you also to Dr. Todd Lambert and Dr. Robin Williams for their support and care.  Elijah was fortunate to have been granted a backyard oasis to celebrate his seventeenth birthday with family and friends by the Children’s Wish Foundation. The Braedon Foundation also assisted in a family room makeover that allowed for comforting family memories.
