Eileen Jane Johnson

It is with heavy hearts the family of Eileen Jane Johnson announce her passing on Saturday December 13, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on November 8, 1954, she is the daughter of the late George and Marie (Cassie) Maillet. Eileen passed away surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, warmth, and cherished memories. She was the beloved wife of Urbain, with whom she shared 47 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a life centered on family, love, and togetherness.

Eileen was a proud and loving mother to her three sons: Jonny (Theresa), Darrell, and Danny (Keara). Her joy only grew as her family expanded to include her grandchildren Joey, Jayla, Micheal, Bryan, Jonny, and Jazlyn, and her precious great-grandchild, Millie, who held a very special place in her heart.

She is also lovingly remembered by her brothers Randy Fournier and Rodney Fournier; her sister Corrine Fournier; and her special Aunt Delma Maillet, and many extended family and friends.

Aside from her parents, Eileen was predeceased by her brothers Mark Fournier and Roland Fournier; her sister Linda Maillet; and her beloved grandchild Mark.

Eileen was a wonderful wife and mother who deeply loved spending time with her family. She treasured moments with her children and, later in life, found immense happiness in time spent with her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, especially her favorite game, Follow the Ace, and was always ready for a good game and a few laughs. Shopping was one of her pleasures, as was sitting outdoors, peacefully listening to the sound of her wind chimes.

Eileen had a love for all things sparkly—the more “bling,” the better. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and decorating the Christmas tree brought her great joy. She was famously particular about placing the deer on the tree, a task no one else was trusted to help with, making it a treasured family tradition and memory.

Eileen will be remembered for her love, her attention to detail, her joyful spirit, and the deep bond she shared with her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her, but her spirit will live on in the traditions, laughter, and love she leaves behind.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). A visitation will take place on Thursday December 18 11-1, with a funeral service in the Chapel at 1pm. The family has invited those who wish to join them in the reception center for a time of fellowship and refreshments following the service. Those looking to donate in memory of Eileen may do so to the charity of the donor’s choice.
