Douglass Sewell Obituary

The family of Douglass Sewell announce his peaceful passing on February 16th, 2026, at the Loch Lomond Villa. Born in Saint John on February 1st, 1927, he was the cherished son of the late Harold and Eva (Matthews) Sewell.  Besides his parents, Douglass was predeceased by his beloved wife Tess, sister Norma and her husband David Edwards, mother-in- law Rose and father-in-law Clifford Comeau, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Douglass will be remembered by his sons Brian (Anne Marie) and David (Valerie) and daughter Diane (Thomas); grandchildren Tracey (Craig), Tara (Tony), Christopher (Jess), Patti (Mike), Kevin (Allison) and Chelsea (Rob) and 11 great grandchildren.

Doug and Tess enjoyed attending musical events, travelling and camping with family and friends.  After working at International Harvester and retiring from Bayview Trucks, he spent much of his time fishing and hunting with his friends Bryce, Norman, Fraser and dear sons.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Elm House at the Villa for their kindness and excellent care.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424).  A Celebration of Life will be held in the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Thursday, February 19th at 2 p.m.  Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date.  Donations in memory of Douglass may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
