Keleher, Douglas Darrell
“Not all who wander are lost”
The family of Douglas Darrell Keleher sadly announces his passing on October 30, 2023 at Shannex-Millidgeville. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on June 9, 1953, he was a son of the late Gladys and Darrell Keleher. Doug predominately worked a lengthy career as a brakeman at CP Rail / NB Southern Railway.
Through the highs and lows of his life, Doug’s Christian faith remained close to his heart. Doug was a very talented musician and throughout his life composed an impressive library of Christian songs. He was happiest with a guitar in hand, sharing the passions and joys of music with others.
When not composing or playing music, Doug enjoyed a round of golf, camping with his son Darrell, wandering local beaches collecting beach rocks or long walks in the woods. Later in his life, as his illness progressed, Doug entertained the staff and residents of Lily Court / Shannex Tucker Hall with his music, humor and his memorable beloved mischievous shenanigans!
To all of Doug’s caregivers / support team, you were much more than that for him.
You were his friends and most importantly, his other family. You made his earthly home a loving and compassionate one and we thank you very much.
Doug is survived by his son, Darrell McNeill, grand-daughter, Keiana, sister Beverley (Bruce) Cumming, and several nieces and nephews and friends.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, New Brunswick (506)-646-2424.
At Doug’s request, there will be no visitation. A celebration of life service will take place on November 9th, 2023 at Full Gospel Assembly Church, 34 Mt. Pleasant Avenue at 10:30 AM with a reception to follow at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
