Douglas Lawrence Godwin of Baxter's Corner passed away at the Saint John Regional hospital on Sunday, April 21st 2024. He was born December 26th 1942 in Saint John NB to Douglas Arthur and Thelma Bernice (Marshall) Godwin.
Douglas is survived by his five children: Krista McKnight, Larry (Sharon) Godwin, Candace Nice, David (Alisha) Godwin and Christopher (Stephanie) Godwin, sister Judy Hayward, sisters-in-law Patsy Johnston, Patricia Johnston and brother-in-law Joseph Johnston, eight grandchildren: Joshua Godwin, Natasha and Chantal and father Rick McKnight, Ethan Godwin, Hayley Godwin, Jillian and her father Jonathan Nice, Olivia Godwin, Luke Godwin, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and loving wife of 55 years Barbara, his brother David Lorne and grandson Matthew Godwin.
Doug was a devoted husband and family man who adored his grandchildren. He was an electrician with a career spanning five decades and a proud member of the IBEW, local 502. He was always building something, whether it be his family home, cottages, garage or deck.
You will never be forgotten and are forever in our hearts.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424). A graveside service will be held at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery (1650 Manawagonish Rd- West Saint John) on Saturday, April 27th at 11 am.
