Dorothy Mae Dunn, surrounded by love, passed peacefully at Embassy Hall, on February 3, 2026, at age 94.
Born in Saint John, on May 2nd, 1931, to the late Edith and John MacKenzie, Dorothy had a quiet strength and warmth throughout her life, she was always graceful, caring and wise.
When her children were teens, she returned to work outside the home, first at Calp’s, then MRA’s and finally The City of Saint John, retiring in 1995. Dorothy took great pleasure and pride in her time with The City and treasured the friendship of her colleagues.
Surviving Dorothy are her loving children Brenda (Lois), Ronald (Audrey); her grandson, whom she adored, Thomas (Ellen) and beautiful great granddaughter Mirielle; brother Avard MacKenzie (the late Theresa); nephew Avard (Mary); niece Dorothy (George).
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424).
The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, February 10th at 12 noon with Rev Don Savoie presiding. The family will receive visitors from 11 till 12 p.m.
