It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt and friend, Doreen Blanche (Rodgers) McKee peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on February 19, 2019. She was born in Saint John on April 4, 1937 to the late Joseph and Queenie Lorraine (Osbourne) Rodgers.
Doreen is predeceased by her husband Harley, sisters; Eileen Robertson and Myrtle Wilkins and grandson Christopher St. Pierre. She will be greatly missed by her children; Norman (Shelley), Bev and Brenda, her 5 grandchildren; Tara St. Pierre, Jason, Dustin, Braeden and Garret McKee, as well as her 3 great grandchildren; Ethan, Isabella and Parker along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and her beloved cat, Charlie.
Doreen was a member of Branch 69 Legion for many years with her husband and continued going after he passed away. She loved to attend their dances and sat on their entertainment boards, but her favorite thing and something she never missed, was her BINGO nights. She attended Bingo at the Race Track, her church, the legion and anywhere else she could find and was actually quite lucky at it. She was a trophy winning bowler and had an infectious laugh that will be fondly remembered. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8pm. A Celebration of Doreen’s Life will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 4pm. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, her family ask for memorial donations in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
