Donna Lorraine Buckley

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Donna Lorraine Buckley, loving wife of the late John Buckley, announces her passing that occurred on Friday January 31, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born March 24 of 1941 she was the daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Nealy) Whitebone.

In her earlier years Donna worked as an Administrations Officer at the Lawrence General Hospital and Exeter Regional Hospital in the States. She was a foster parent for many years, helping raise over fifty children. Donna was a long-time volunteer for several organizations and took great pride in playing Mrs. Clause at the local zoo. She enjoyed embroidery, cross stitching and anything arts and crafts. 

She is survived by her adored children; Christine (David) McLean, John (Marlana) Jr., Bruce (Peggy) and Diane (Matthew) Booker; 23 grandchildren, 15 (soon to be 16) great-grandchildren; brother David (Tammy) Whitebone; sisters Judy (Mack) Gilker and Lynda (Leonard) Collrin; step-brother Milford (Donna) McBrien; several nieces and nephews and her canine companions Mr. Wiggles and Reba.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother Jimmy Whitebone.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road with visitation on Wednesday February 5, 2020 from 1-3 p.m. A Celebration of her Life will follow from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 3 p.m. Donations in her memory may be made to the Animal Rescue League or to any local animal shelter.
