Donald Howard Finniemore known to many as Huck of Grand bay –Westfield, passed away peacefully at Bobby’s Hospice on Friday April 23rd, 2021 following a period of failing health. Born in Odell River, NB on May 27th of 1942, he was the son of the late Dermott and Doris (Short) Finniemore. Huck worked in the field electronics and technology for many years working for NB Tel and Canadian Coast Guard retiring in 1995. He was a member of the RCL #69 and worked as a bartender for the Legion and for AJ’s . He enjoyed reading, doing cross words puzzles, and precious time with family and friends. Huck had a passion for the open road and enjoyed his 1976 Harley Davidson Police Special for many years before moving on to a newer model.
Huck is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Lillian (Arseneau) Finniemore of Grand-bay-Westfield; son Terry Finniemore (Kathy) of St. Andrews; daughters Gail Graves (David) of Marietta, Georgia and Lynn Smith (Todd) of Clarendon; grandchildren Julia Parent (Jesse) and Zackery Ostashek; great-granddaughters Olivia and Charlotte; sister Deanna Wong (Bob) of Grand-bay Westfield; nieces, nephews and friends. Along with his parents, Huck was predeceased by his sister Doreen Lyle.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) by request there will be no visitation or service.
