Donald Ian Shaw

It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Ian Shaw announce his passing on Jan 24, 2023, following a brief illness.  Don is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Jean and was a proud father to Tracey Hogg (Allan), Lesley and Rhonda.  He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Rheal, Reegan, Avery and Olivia.

Don was predeceased by his sister Pat, brothers Ray, Keith and most recently Robin.  He will be remembered by his sister Ruth, sister-in-law Ann, sister-in-law Gloria (Joe), sister-in-law Helena, brother-in-law Don, brother-in-law Bob (Anne) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Don was generous in spirit.  He gave much of his time to helping family, friends and the community. Don was actively involved in many organizations including Kinsmen and Kennebecasis Valley Old Boys.  Always the first to raise a helping hand, and in keeping with this, he has donated his body to medical science.  Don was the ultimate salesman.  He sold everything from insurance to Girl Guide Cookies and the idea that everyone should recycle and reuse.

The Memorial Gathering will take place on Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 12noon until 2:00pm, at St. David's United Church, Rothesay.  In lieu of flowers, consider donating a unit of blood to Canadian Blood Services.  Don was a firm believer in this life saving mission and donated over 930 units himself.  Don's life motto was "It's in you to give and it costs nothing."
