Donald Cormier

With heavy hearts, the family of Donald J. Cormier announces his passing on November 20, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Caraquet, NB, on February 4, 1936, Donald was the son of the late Ernest Cormier and Alice Chamberlain (Hebert).

A lifelong outdoorsman, Donald found his greatest joy in nature. He loved spending time fishing, and in his younger years, hunting. He enjoyed going to his camp and spending time with his grandson Thomas.

Known for his keen eye for a good deal, Donald delighted in yard sales and enjoyed buying and selling cars. He also had a deep appreciation for music and dancing. Country western tunes and the Grand Ole Opry were among his favorites, bringing him comfort and happiness throughout his life.

Donald will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Donna Cormier and Alice Morris (Jim); his grandchildren, Thomas Alchorn (Sarah) and Lindsay Alchorn-Dixon (Brian); his sister, Aldia of Ontario; and his loyal canine companion, Chiko.

In addition to his parents, Donald was predeceased by his beloved wife, Donna “Faye” Cormier; his sisters, Rita and Irene; and his brother-in-law, Fred.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB. A private family graveside service will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, donations in Donald’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
