Dieter Gomke

The death of Dieter Gomke, loving husband of Patricia (Ferris) Gomke occurred on August 2, 2026 at Bobby's Hospice.

Born 1951 in Neubrandenburg, Germany, he was the son of the late Herbert and Emma (Triachel) Gomke.

Dieter had worked for Willet Foods for 24 years then moved to Irving Forest Services until his retirement in 2016. He enjoyed cars and loved watching car racing. He spent his summers at TNT campground, playing golf, cards and floating in the river.

His greatest joy was spending time and teasing his grandchildren, Kyle, Devon, Jacey, Joseph, Jayme and Halie. 

Along with his loving wife Pat of 54 years, he is survived by his son Peter (Tasha) Gomke, and daughter Laurie (Tim) Douglas and his beloved fur baby Willow, Sisters in laws Helena Gomke, Linda (John) Sowerby, Marie Whalen, Linda (Roy) Butler, Carol (Barry) Good, Pam (Rick) Harquail, Donald (Sherry) Ferris, Bill (Debbie) Ferris, Gorden (Mary T); several nieces and nephews and many friends. 

Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers Wilhelm, Herbert & Guido and sister Hildegarde Lambert and sister-in-law Carmen, brothers in law Raymond Ferris, John Lambert and Clinton Whalen.

Our family wishes to express our sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit as well as Bobby's Hospice for the care and compassion shown towards Dieter and our entire family. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506)-646-2424. Visitation hours will be held on Thursday, August 6th between 4:00-7:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, August 7th at 2:00 PM from the Fundy Chapel.
