Dianne Brittain

It is with appreciation of a life well-lived and gratitude for many years of memories, that the family of Dianne (Seely) Brittain, announces her passing which occurred on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at her home. Born in Saint John on August 2, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Reta (Hunter Taylor) Seely.  

In 1960, Dianne graduated from the Saint John General Hospital and worked as a nurse in Saint John until later moving to Fredericton where she worked with the VON.  

A faithful and dedicated member of Forest Hills Baptist Church, Dianne served at the church in many different roles, including the church choir and as a member of the Carolyn Rempel - Jean Smith Women’s Missionary Society (WMS). Dianne enjoyed participating in the GEMS group and the monthly Hymn Sings held at the church.  

Dianne was very family orientated and extremely devoted to her cherished children and grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, gardening and occasionally travelling the world alongside Harry.  

She particularly enjoyed having family together and took great pride in preparing family dinners for holidays, birthdays, and special occasions. The family will always cherish the moments spent with Dianne and memories made during their Caribbean family cruise in 2020.  

Dianne is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Harry Brittain along with her 4 children: Janet Lincoln (Tim), Christine Brittain Campbell (Rob), John (Heather) and Stephen (Jennifer). She is also survived by her brother David Seely (Carolyn). Also left to mourn are her 11 grandchildren: Chris, Alex, Ben, Vicky, Garret, William, Caitlyn, Annika, Meredith, Eric and Colin.  

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation hours being held on Sunday, March 26, 2023 between 2-8 PM. A funeral service will take place on Monday, March 27th at Forest Hills Baptist Church beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Lorneville Cemetery at a later date.
