Devin Orcutt Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Devin Corey Orcutt on July 9, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family.

Devin was born in Edmonton, AB, on November 18, 1974, to his parents Terry Orcutt and Carol (Sletto) Zinck, and was the loving partner for 23 years to Kim (Findlay) Orcutt, whom he married in 2015

Devin was a devoted son and husband, and a doting grandfather.  He was a kind, generous soul, who still thrived in the regimented military life.  Devin joined the Army Cadets at 14, and spent the rest of his working life in service to his country.  After High School, he joined the regular forces, first as a mechanic with the Army, later switching to Intelligence Operations (IntOp) with the Air Force.  He did on tour of Afghanistan, following which he retired for medical reasons.

His retirement years were spent with his friends and family, who knew they could always count on Devin for a helping hand or advice, which was usually handed out with his trademark, and often hilarious, bluntness.  Anyone who knew Devin could tell you about his generosity, always willing to go the extra mile for those he loved.  He filled his day with online activities, from chatting with friends to playing MRPG games, and his in-person Dungeons and Dragons game with both new and old friends.  He shared a love of horror movies with his wife, Kim, and they often made them a part of their regular date nights.  And he was a devoted cat dad to Jensen, Rue, Lilith and Taran, to the point of spoiling them, just a little bit.

Devin was a man with a big, generous heart and it is sadly ironic that his own should fail him.  We will always remember Devin with as much love and devotion as he showed to us.  He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his wife, Kim, Devin is survived by his mother, Carol Zinck; his father, Terry Orcutt; his mother-in-law, Margaret Findlay; his step-daughter, whom he loved like a daughter, Meghann McMurray (Ian); his granddaughter, whom he affectionately called Papa’s Little Rose, Brookelynn; his sister, Megan Orcutt; his step brother, Carl Zinck; as well as many friends.  He was predeceased by his stepfather, Gerry Zinck and his father-in-law, Thomas Findlay.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424).  In keeping with Corey’s wishes, cremation will take place and no services will be held.  For those who wish, memorial donations in his memory to the Wounded Warriors of Canada, the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or to the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by his family.
