Dennis Gaidamasciuk passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born in Saint John on May 6, 1942, he was the beloved son of the late Mary and William Gaidamasciuk.
Dennis shared 47 wonderful years with the love of his life, his wife Ann (Sanford). Together they built a life filled with joy, family, and their shared passion for dancing. They never missed a dance for 40 years, creating lasting friendships along the way, until Dennis' health journey began with kidney disease, bravely facing dialysis treatments for the past nine years. Dennis was a proud and dedicated member of the Local 213, working diligently for 42 years on numerous significant projects including Point Lepreau, Irving Refinery, Moosehead Breweries, Coleson Cove, Dalhousie, and notably, the construction of the Harbour Bridge, among many others. He treasured family gatherings, especially around Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving, where he delighted in home-cooked meals, frequently hosted by Randy and Karen, and always appreciated Ann's nightly surprise suppers. Dennis was immensely proud of his Ukrainian heritage and held dear the memories of his mother’s special cooking.
He is survived and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Ann; sons Ron Sanford, Randy Sanford (Karen), and Darren Sanford; his adored grandchildren Bret, Tyler (Courtney), Derek (Youngjin), Kristen (Nick), Matthew (Caroline), and Joesph (Ty); and great-grandchildren Logan, Luc, Lily, Brayden, Hudson, Lennox, Kai, Noah and Thomas. He is also survived by his beloved nephew Billy Belding (Kathy) and niece Cindy, both of whom he cherished deeply. Besides his parents, Dennis was predeceased by his brother Tony (Joyce), sister Anna, and nephew Michael.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the dialysis and extramural nurses for their excellent care, and a very special thank you to his favorite ambulance attendants, Sarah, John, Kim, May, and all others who treated Dennis like family.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 12PM - 2PM. A Funeral Service will follow in the Fundy Chapel at 2PM. For those who wish, donations in memory of Dennis can be made to Diabetes Canada or a charity of the donor’s choice.
Dennis, you will be deeply missed, remembered fondly, and forever cherished. Rest in peace, our angel—you deserve it. Until we meet again, you will remain forever in our hearts. With eternal love, Your Wife and Family
