It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of David “Dave” Phillips on Monday July 14, 2025. Born on March 25, 1954, in Saint John, New Brunswick, he was the son of the late John and Mary Phillips (Leblanc).
He is survived by his stepson Justin Doucette (Carol); grandchildren Christian Doucette, Jason Doucette and Chandler Doucette; siblings Glen Phillips (Diane), Ann Nason (Stuart), Pam O’Leary, Jackie Phillips, Robert Phillips (Jackie) and Darlene Jennings (Ed); sister-in-law Darlene Phillips, his partner Bonnie Doiron, along with several nieces and nephews.
Dave lived life on his own terms and found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He dedicated over 25 years of hard work to Maguire Excavating and was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion, having been affiliated with both Branch 2 and Branch 69. David had a passion for darts and was widely known as one of the best pool players in the province. His competitive spirit, warm heart, and love for family will be remembered by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Dave was predeceased by his brother Jim Phillips, sister Doreen Phillips and brother-in-law Donald O’Leary.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (506-646-2424). A private family interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date. Donation towards a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
