David McQuinn Obituary

It is with great sadness the family of David Warren McQuinn announces his passing, on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital in Moncton. Born on January 29, 1959, in Moncton, Dave was a son of the late Leslie Earle McQuinn, DVM, and late Mary Alice (Atkinson) McQuinn.

Dave is survived by his partner Michelle Gilchrist; brother Doug McQuinn (Angie); sisters Ruth McQuinn (Roger) and Lorna Balemans (Bill); and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Rev. Don McQuinn (Lois).
Dave’s very close friend for many years has been Calvin Meehan. For many years Dave has been the owner of McQuinn Accounting Services and has appreciated each and every client as a friend. Dave has also enjoyed the company of his loyal and affectionate Shih Tzu, D’Arcy McGee. They went everywhere together, including the Tim Hortons.
Everyone at gatherings enjoyed Dave's properly charred "mac 'n cheese". He was renowned for his delightful memories and story-telling. He loved volunteering on hot air balloon chasing and repacking during Sussex balloon fiestas. He did countless hours of bushwhacking – helping to reclaim many acres of farmland that had become overgrown with alders on Dad's retirement hobby farm.

Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Surgical ICU of the Dumont Hospital for their kindness, care and compassion.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). Cremation has already taken place. In keeping with Dave’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
Donations in Dave’s memory to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, the Dumont Hospital, or to a charity of the donor's choice would be much appreciated by the family.
