David Bruce Godwin-Hart (Janes)

David passed away peacefully on March 28, 2023 at Bobby’s Hospice. David was very active until he suffered a stroke in November 2022 which took him to the Saint John Regional Hospital for four weeks. He spent the last fourteen weeks of his life at Bobby’s Hospice where he received excellent care.

David was the adopted son of Stanley L. and Annie (Bryson) Janes. He was raised with his siblings Linda Nauss (Pat), Doug Janes (Ella), Carson Janes (Mary) Donna Nason (Duane), Kathy Urquhart (John), Wendy Lynch (Kevin), Jimmy Janes, Larry Janes, and Stan Janes Jr. David is also survived by several nieces and nephews, special friends Daryl and Sharon Wilson, along with his friends at the Assembly at 146 Lansdowne Avenue. He was pre-deceased by his brother Stan Jr. who passed away in 2007. After graduating from Simonds High School in 1980, David was employed by a number of companies as a cook, baker, waiter, and cashier. He also volunteered for the Salvation Army, and Full Gospel Assembly, and was also a blood donor. David had great faith and love for God and his Son Jesus Christ. In recent years he enjoyed fellowship with those Gathered to the Lord’s Name at 146 Lansdowne Avenue. The family is very grateful for his faith in God which made the crooked places straight. Absent from the body, present with the Lord!

The family would like to thank Bobby’s Hospice for the excellent care and compassion shown to David during his stay. Thank you to Daryl Wilson, Bruce Hayhoe, Bruce Magee, Rev. Greg McMullin and Rev. Ann Fairweather for their spiritual visits.

In keeping with David’s wishes, there will be no visitation, but a memorial service will be held at 146 Lansdowne Avenue on Wednesday, April 19th at 11:00 am. For those who wish, remembrances to Bobby’s Hospice would be appreciated.
