David Daye Obituary

It is with heavy hearts, the family of David Lee Daye announce his peaceful passing at his home in Saint John, New Brunswick, on May 18, 2022. He was born on March 27,1954 in Saint John to the late Eugene Charles Daye and Faye Marguerite (Boyd) of Quispamsis.

Davey boy will be deeply missed by the love of his life, Debbie Doucette; his children Tammy Symons (Todd), Lisa Daye, Kimberly Daye (Chris), Christopher Daye (Victoria); stepchildren Justin and Jaclyn Doucette (Brian); sisters Linda Denton (Charlie), Joann Tyrie (Scott); brother Stephen Daye, sister-in-law Linda Daye; 7 grandchildren Caleb, Hope, Michael, Ashley, Grace, Brooklynn, and Jackson; great-grandson Mateo as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins, and really great friends! He also leaves behind his beloved yorkie Maddie.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his older brother Neil, sister Sandra, and niece Kathryn.

David, an avid Bruins fan, loved to watch hockey, loved to fish and hunt and especially loved spending time at his camp on the Miramichi river, and would take his late cat Buddy with him every time. David loved playing Rumoli and cards with family and friends and try to beat everyone at Canasta (everyone he played with was a "sandbagger" of course). He often spent time at the breakwater with Debbie, "Ratty Mattie" and "Brooktrout" to hunt for sea glass. David loved life and was quick to offer a hand to anyone needing anything.

David was a Red Seal stone mason for many years, working for John Flood and sons (ACT).
