David Howard Carr

David Howard Carr passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Barrie, Ontario on August 1, 1944, he was the son of the late James Howard and Glenna May (Hill) Carr. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister Ann Marie Carr, and the love of his life Katherine Oland.

David was a writer and enjoyed writing about his life experiences.

David is survived by his children Robert Carr, Lynn Korczak, Doug Carr, Krista Learmonth and Tania Thomas; his canine companion Patches; several grandchildren, friends and followers online.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.

Remembrances in memory David may be made to the SPCA.

Friends are precious commodities
unbuyable and unsellable if true
so when they do something great
it doesn’t matter how small
it is worth more than money to me
it is a statement of my worth to you
and I appreciate it no end
life has not been too kind lately
but I am still here, lucky to be
even luckier to be with friends
with thanks and love I am here
to celebrate your celebrating me
it means the world to me
as we age, friends mean more
but often become many less
for that is part of life for all
just know that you are appreciated
and may you always have a spot
for those around you in life
many more than you know
are seeing friends disappear
from their world
