Darrell Leonard Buck

It is with heavy hearts the family of Darrell Leonard Buck, age 91, announces his passing which occurred on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Born in Saint John, NB on May 12, 1929 he was the son of the late Leonard and Anna Pearl (Whiteneck) Buck. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Laura Doreen (Hamilton) Buck; brother Arnold Buck, Norville Buck and Murray Beesley and sister Dolores Graham.

Darrell worked as an Engine Fitter and maintenance for S.J.S.L. for 30 years. He was a member of the Caledonian Pipe Band for 42 years and also enjoyed bowling, hockey and softball. He will be missed by all his family.

He is survived by his children David (Inez), Darrell Jr. (Penny) all of Saint John, Dwayne (Marlene) of Florida and Darelynn Connell (David) of Saint John; brother Denton Buck (Marilyn); sisters Margaret Sprague and Marjorie Moore all of Saint John; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, Saint John (646-2424). As per Darrell’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Remembrances in memory of Darrell may be made to the Diabetes Association, Alzheimer’s Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
