Darlene Winona Murray

It is with broken hearts that we announce the death of Darlene Murray. She was a long standing resident of Saint John, and is survived by her loving husband, Norman, daughter Christa Parent (Larry), son Scott Murray (Shelley) and her three grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Marckus Parent, Marcie Parent and Dax Murray.

Darlene was predeceased by her father Waldo Ross, stepfather Bill Boyce, as well as several aunts and uncles. She is survived by her mother, Lois Boyce and four siblings. Kevin (Bonnie) Ross, Keith (Janet) Ross, Lana (John) Goehl, and Linda Ashby. In addition she has several nieces and nephews, Sandy Ross, Jenna Ross, John Ross Goehl, Evan Goehl, Jeremy Ashby, Jeffery Ashby, Sarah Donnahee, and Janelle Landry. As well as two great nieces, Violet Landry and Oona Malmanche and one great nephew, Thelonious Malmanche.

Throughout Darlene’s life she was known for her ability to comfort, encourage, and minister to the many people who she crossed paths with. This included her ladies bible studies, seniors ministries, Sunday school classes, and her ministry through song. Darlene was always a giver and the support that she showed to her many friends and acquaintances is evident by the overwhelming response that we have already received from social media and cards of sympathy.

Visitation will be held at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John on Thursday, July 15 from 2pm – 8pm. Funeral service will take place on Friday July 16 at 11:00 am in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. Those unable to attend are invited to watch online here at https://view.oneroomstreaming.com/authorise.php?k=1626194209125045. Interment will take place following the service at Ocean View Memorial Gardens on Grandview Avenue.

Memorials may be made to the “Canadian Cancer Society”, “North Side Assembly” or the charity of the donor’s choice.
