Daniel Leo Riley

It is with sadness that the family of Daniel Leo Riley announces his passing on Wednesday October 20, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Dan was born in Saint John on November 15, 1940 and was the son of the late E. Leo and J. Gladys (George) Riley.

Dan was a graduate of Simonds Regional High School and was employed by Canada Revenue for 29 years.

Dan could often be found at the mall having coffee with his friends or socializing at the senior dances. He had a passion for both vegetable and flower gardening and was particularly proud of his prize-winning roses.

He is survived by his children David R. and Shannon J. both of Saint John, NB and Daniel L. (Ashley) of Fort McMurray, AB; three grandchildren Matthew R. Humphrey and John E. Breen of Saint John, NB and Ariana Riley of Fort McMurray, AB; brothers Robert F. (Gisele), Phillip (Ann), Ronald A. (Sandra), John G. (Anne), Patrick J. and several nieces and nephews

In addition to his parents, Dan was predeceased by his brother Michael W. Riley.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road. At his request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A Celebration of Dan’s Life will be held at O’Malley’s Pub, (621 Rothesay Avenue, Saint John) at a later date. For those who wish, donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
