Cynthia Jane (Brittain) Buckle

Cynthia was called to her heavenly home on September 18, 2022 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Born in Saint John on January 20, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Coster and Ruth (Galbraith) Brittain.  Cynthia was the wife of the late David Buckle who passed away on January 13, 2018.  Cynthia worked as a teacher and she worked at NB Tel before becoming a full time homemaker.  She was a former member of the Riverside Curling Club, she also enjoyed bowling in her bowling league, lawn bowling, and many outings with family and friends.  Cynthia was a kind, thoughtful and selfless lady.  She dealt with her illness with grace and dignity, and never lost her sense of humour.  Above all her family was the most important thing to Cynthia; she loved them with all her heart.  She will be dearly missed.  She is survived by her son Andrew Buckle (Lori) of Quispamsis; her daughters:  Rosalyn Nickerson (Craig) of Quispamsis and Nancy Buckle (Daniel Allard) of Saint John; her brothers:  Harry Brittain (Dianne) and Hugh Brittain (Rosalie) all of Saint John; her grandchildren:  Raymond Buckle, Thomas Buckle, Maria Buckle, Jane Nickerson, Isabelle Nickerson, Lucy Nickerson, Grant McGuire, and Jill McGuire; her sisters-in-law:  Glenna Brittain of Saint John and Shawn Stubbert (John) of Fredericton; as well as by many extended family members and good friends.  In addition to her parents and husband, Cynthia was predeceased by her brother Bruce Brittain.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (506-646-2424).  Visitation will be held on Thursday September 22, 2022 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm.  The funeral service will be held on Friday September 23, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will be held in the Lorneville Cemetery.  Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society in memory of David, or a charity of your personal choice would be appreciated by the family.  Online condolences are available at:  www.fundyfuneralhome.com
