Colin Alexander Rosborough

June 26, 1932 ~ June 12, 2022 (age 89)

On Sunday our world lost a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. A true gentleman, who was kind, giving, and always there for his family.

It is with heavy hearts, but with appreciation for a life well lived, that the family of Colin Alexander Rosborough, loving husband of Sylvia May Jean (Bell) Rosborough, announces his peaceful passing which occurred at his residence on June 12, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in McAdam, NB on June 26, 1932 he was the son of the late Alexander Rosborough and Emma (Coffee) Rosborough. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brother Glennis and sister Pauline. In his younger years, Colin loved sports and played basketball for several mens teams in Montreal and New Brunswick. A natural athlete, he also excelled in baseball and hockey. Basketball remained his passion throughout his life, and he and Sylvia enjoyed being “couch coaches” for their beloved Toronto Raptors.

In 1960 Colin moved from Montreal to Saint John where he began a fulfilling and successful career with the Irving Oil Refinery, retiring in 1992 from his role as Maintenance Superintendent. In his retirement Colin enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his devoted wife of 69 years, Sylvia, he is survived by his loving daughters Rhonda Cusack (Mark) and Kim Legge (Bruce); cherished grandchildren Chelsea (Jamie), Colin (Katie), and Alexander (Amanda), and great grandson Maxwell; sister-in-law Coleen Graham (Gary), and his nephews, nieces, cousins and treasured friends.

His family would like to give special thanks to HomeCarebyDesign, Lynda Chiasson and her dedicated team whose help and caring allowed Colin to stay at home…just where he wanted to be.

Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, Saint John (646-2424). Honouring his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. The family asks those who wish, to consider donating to the Heart & Stroke or to the charity of their choice.
