Clinton Alexander MacDougall

It is with deep sadness that our family announces the peaceful passing of our dear brother, Clinton Alexander MacDougall, which occurred on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Rocmaura Nursing Home, Garden Court, in Saint John, New Brunswick. Born in Saint John on September 26, 1949, Clinton was the only son of the late Alexander Hugh and Mary Bridget (Flynn) MacDougall.

Clinton is survived by his three sisters, Donna Abbott (Joseph), Patricia Morton (Barry), both of Grand Bay–Westfield, NB, and Darlene Cosman (the late Lloyd) of Saint John, NB. Better known among his family as “the favourite brother,” Clinton will also be lovingly remembered by his five nephews, one niece, and two great-nephews.

Clinton’s working life began at a young age as a paperboy, before going on to build a long and dedicated career as a Journeyman Printer with the Telegraph-Journal, where he worked for more than 30 years. Outside of work, Clinton had many interests. He enjoyed horse racing—not only as a devoted fan, but also as an owner—and spent many happy hours golfing, bowling, and following baseball, particularly the Toronto Blue Jays. Clinton also loved to walk and could often be found enjoying time outdoors.

Our family wishes to express our sincere gratitude to Brenda Wilson and the staff of Rocmaura Nursing Home, Garden Court, for the care, kindness, and compassion shown to Clinton over the past three years.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Wednesday, January 28th at 1:00 PM with Monsignor Brian Henneberry presiding from the Fundy Chapel, with visitation taking place one hour prior to the service. A reception will follow, with interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. A Mass will be offered at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on a date to be announced, please check back on our website.
