Claude W. Simonds

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Claude W. Simonds, which occurred unexpectedly at his home on Monday, September 29, 2025. Born in 1961, in Saint John, he graduated from Saint John High School and attended both NBCC and UNBSJ.

Claude is survived by his sisters Toni and Cristal (Jerry), many nieces and nephews, and his adopted family Wayne, Peggy, Angela, and Brent Vaughan. Claude was predeceased by his parents Richard (Dick) and Vera, as well as his brother Stephen and sister Debbie.

Claude had a varied work history, from SJ Shipbuilding to Iron Mountain Canada, to Canada Post. His giving nature led him to volunteering with United Way food drives, and as a Big Brother.

Claude had a quirky yet endearing sense of humor, and was a man who was dependable, loyal, and so very generous.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd., Saint John, NB (506-646-2424). A Celebration of Claude’s Life will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 2PM in the Fundy Chapel. Interment to follow at Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Kidney Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
