Clarabelle Seeley

Peacefully at the Dr. John Gillis Memorial Lodge on Monday, November 3, 2025 the death occurred of Clarabelle Seeley, formerly of Montague, age 101 years.  

Loving mother of Sandra Young (Bill) and Terry Seeley (Debbie). Cherished grandmother of Carla Young, Laura Willson (Mark), Jamie Young, Sheri Nauffts (Matt), Jennifer Johnson and Neil Johnson. Great-grandmother of Rae-Lea Jakeman (Austin), Josh Young, Connor Nauffts, Xander Nauffts, Kyle Heffernan, Karley Heffernan, Myah Johnson and Brandon MacPherson. Clarabelle will be missed by her sister Shirley Walton and her brother Jim Hovey. Predeceased by her parents Vivan and Josephine (Brown) Hovey; husband Ray; siblings Malcolm, Muriel, Marguerite, Clarence, James, Ethel and Doris; brother-in-law Bill Walton and by her sister-in-law Joyce Hovey. 

Clarabelle’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Gillis Lodge for all of its dedicated and exceptional care they provided Clarabelle.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd., Saint John, NB. A Visitation will take place on November 12, 2025, from 11AM - 12PM followed by a Funeral Service at 12PM in the Fundy Chapel. Interment will be held at Ocean View Memorial Gardens after the reception. For those who wish, donations in memory of Clarabelle can be made to the Dr. John Gillis Memorial Lodge Activity Fund, or a charity of the donor's choice. When donating to the Gillis Lodge Activity Fund, please send e-transfers to office@gillislodge.ca. While Fundy Funeral Home cannot take payments for them directly, a pledge card can still be placed to the family by phone or in person.
