Clara Ida Jean Chase

With appreciation for a life well lived, Clara Ida Jean Chase passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, at the age of 101. Born in Parry Sound, Ontario she was the daughter of the late Earl Raymond and Gladys (nee. Hall) Flemming.

Clara was a ferocious reader with a strong admiration for books. She was a loving and kind woman who provided unconditional love to her family. A graceful matriarchal figure, Clara helped those in need and ensured all her family was looked after; never asking for anything in return.

Clara is survived by her daughter Cheryl (Joe); grandchildren: Tony and Tracey (Michel), Michael, Jason (Suzanne), Dan, Doug, Pam, and Amy (Jason), Johanne (Mike), Jill (Anthony) and Karen (Bryan); great-grandchildren; Michelle, Anthony, Isabelle, Rachael, Casey, Max, Erin, Abigail, Josephine, Cayden and Lincoln; as well as her niece and nephews: Cindy, Rod, Jeff, and Mark.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Benjamin Ludlow Chase, son Allan, and daughter Sandra, and sisters: Elinor and Gwyn.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB E2J 2G3; (506) 646-2424. In respecting Clara’s wishes cremation has taken place with no visitation or service to follow.
