With heavy hearts, the family of Christine Susanne McGrath announce her peaceful passing on
May 1, 2026, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, with her loved ones by her side.
Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, on August 6, 1953, Christine was the beloved daughter of
the late John and Katherine (Klein) Gotzmeister.
Christine will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 51 years, Wayne McGrath; her
sons, Jason (Angela) McGrath and Steven McGrath; her sister, Helen (David) O’Blenis; sister in-
law Judy (Stan) Grant, brother in-laws Kevin (Debbie) McGrath, and Mike McGrath. She will
also be fondly remembered by the many friends she made throughout her life.
She was overjoyed when her son Steven returned home after living out west for the past 15
years. Christine had a love for dancing, shopping and playing bingo, but above all, she took great
pride in her home. She found joy in painting and caring for her beautiful flower gardens.
In addition to her parents, Christine was predeceased by her sister, Gertrude Lingley.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-
2424). In keeping with Christine’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service at this time.
For those who wish, donations in Christine’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s
choice.
