Chelsea McCumber Obituary

With broken hearts, the family of Chelsea June McCumber announces her passing on February 6, 2026. Born on April 7, 1988, in Saint John, New Brunswick, Chelsea was the cherished daughter of Karen and Bruce McCumber.

Chelsea was kind, caring, and possessed a truly beautiful soul. She was known for her infectious laugh and an easy smile. Easygoing by nature, she loved to dance and never missed a chance to enjoy a good party with the people she loved. She had a rare gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued. We will remember her for her warmth, her joy, and the happiness she brought into the world.

In her younger years, Chelsea was a cheerleader at Bayside Middle School, Simonds High School and later worked at Superstore. Driven by her desire to help others, she returned to school and proudly became a Personal Support Worker and eventually a Licensed Practical Nurse, most recently working at Shannex. Nursing was more than a career for Chelsea—it was her calling, and she gave her heart to those in her care.

Chelsea loved spending time in St. Martins, especially at the beach, where she found peace and joy. Above all else, she cherished her family. Her greatest love was her son, Connor, and she treasured quality time with her niece and nephews—Hannah, Hudson, and Jack—often enjoying moments together watching Lilo and Stitch. Her love for her family was fierce and unconditional.

Chelsea will be deeply missed by her beloved son Connor (Sydney); her parents Karen and Bruce McCumber; her sister Alexandria MacKay (Brandon); her niece Hannah MacKay; her nephews Hudson and Jack MacKay; as well as many aunts, uncle Larry, cousins, friends, extended family, and her feline companion Oliver.

She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Edgar and June Martin; grandfather David Duncan; her aunt Elaine Northrup; her cousin Dustin Williams; and her beloved feline companion Casper.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, New Brunswick. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and 6:00–8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Fundy Chapel.
