It is with great sadness that the family of Carol Ann Fillmore announce her passing, which occurred on November 17, 2023 at the Ridgewood Veterans Hospital, after a lengthy illness.
Carol is survived by her brother Gary Fillmore (Mona), sister June Neske (Bob), nephews Glen Fillmore (Marie Jo) and Graeme Neske (Brittany), niece Carmen Neske, aunt Joanne Fillmore, cousins Chuck, Doug and Don Fillmore, and Gail Fillmore-Crilley, and special friends Linda Grant and Marilyn McGarity.
Carol was a graduate of the University of New Brunswick, an avid reader, amateur artist and had travelled the world. She was passionate about sketching, painting, watching Jeopardy, researching the family genealogy including her own ancestry.
Over the last several months, Carol demonstrated great courage throughout her medical struggles and never complained. Despite her pain and suffering, she retained her sense of humour until the end. Our hearts are broken with her passing but comforted that her suffering has ended.
The family would like to extend our sincerest of thanks to the Nursing Staff at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing, Victory Lane. You provided the best of care and demonstrated a kindness and compassion that was second to none, which was extremely appreciated by Carol. In addition, Carol was very grateful for the care provided by her family doctor, Dr. Linda Stevenson, throughout her lifetime.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home in Saint John. It was Carol’s wishes that there was no service or visitation. Carol will be buried at Ocean View Memorial Garden with her parents, at a private ceremony.
Donations in Carol’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
