Carol McPhee Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Carol Christine (Todd) McPhee at the Saint John Regional Hospital on October 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Saint John on December 22, 1965, to the late Everett and Isabella (Davidson) Todd.

Growing up in the South End, Carol loved to walk everywhere, including to the store or to visit friends. She spent a lot of time gardening in her yard, making sure that her flowers looked just right. Carol had a lifelong love of horses, and in her younger years, she had a passion for horseback riding. Her love of horses was also evident throughout her home, which was filled with horse-themed decorations. Carol was an avid Shania Twain fan and was thrilled to see her live in PEI years ago – a memory she cherished and often talked about. She also loved old cars – especially Chevys – and could often be found at car shows around the city. Carol was a very casual person in everything she did, from clothing to hobbies. She loved going to barbecues, eating barbecued food along with her Coca-Cola, especially when she was not the host. Comfort was important to Carol, in both her style and her way of life. She loved and had a way with animals and enjoyed photography (often capturing the moments you did not realize you wanted), hiking, watching TV, and finding fun in simple moments. She had an incredible memory and never forgot a birthday, holiday, or general things about everyone. Carol was a force to be reckoned with and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Wendy (Patrick) Storey; son, Shelby; sisters, Florence (Norman) Blount and Murial Melanson; her brother, David Todd; her granddog, Leia as well as her beloved fur baby, Zoey; nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister-in-law, Susan and her brother-in-law, Eddie.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) where visitation will be held on Monday from 5-8pm. A celebration of life will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 1pm followed by interment in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donations in her memory to the SPCA-Animal Rescue League, Red Head Strays, Autism Canada or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
