Carol Fox Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Carol Fox announces her passing on July 11, 2025.  Carol Ann Fox, born February 20, 1941, was the daughter of the late James and Milly (Perry) Fox.  Carol was predeceased by her parents, as well as her sister, Shirley Miller in 2020 and her brother Jim Fox in 2024.  She is survived by her brothers, David Fox and his wife Sybil, and Peter Fox and his companion, Lee MacLean, and one nephew, Robert (Lou Ann) of Ontario.

Carol grew up in Milford and Fairville where she met many friends, especially Rita David (Parent) who she met when she was only 4 years old, and they remained close pals for 80 years.

Carol went to school at the old Fairville Superior School, then on to Barnhill Memorial School.  She studied Secretarial at Saint John Vocational where she played volleyball and basketball.  While attending VOC, she worked part time at the Village Inn Restaurant.

When she left school, Carol took her first full time job as a telephone operator at NBTel, working nights.  Carol moved on to the Bank of Nova Scotia, Kings Square in 1959 where she met and became very close friends with Kaye Legere (Williams), and they have remained close friends for 66 years.  Carol loved Kaye, her children and grandchildren.

Carol loved to travel.  She lived in Vancouver for a while and she lived in Toronto a couple of times, but she was always glad to get back to the slower life here in NB.  She enjoyed visiting her friend, Linda Allen in Gibson, BC.

In her later years, Carol loved to play Bridge.   She enjoyed learning new conventions and applying what she learned with all her friends at the Fundy Duplicate Bridge Club.  Carol was a proud member of PROBUS Womens Club, where she served on the Executive Board in a number of capacities.  Carol also belonged to the United Commercial Travelers, where she also served on various committees.

Carol loved children.  Although she was never blessed with any of her own, she loved spending time with Lee’s children and grandchildren, Finley, Sage and Tessa.  Also, holding a special place in Carol’s heart were Kaye’s children and grandchildren, Jonathan, Michael, Hazen and Lilah.

At this time, I would like to say thank you to the staff of the Saint John Regional Hospital for their care of my sister.  But I want to say a very special Thank You to the management and wonderful staff of Bobby’s Hospice.  You guys made Carol’s last two weeks very comfortable with your caring and loving attention.  She told me that she loved each and every one of you.

Last, but certainly not least, I want to thank my Sweetheart, Lee MacLean, for helping me stay by Carol’s side 24 hours a day, so she wouldn’t be alone.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424).  In keeping with Carol’s wishes, no services are to be held.  For those who wish, memorial donations in her memory to Bobby’s Hospice, the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
