Carol Craig Obituary

Dear Mom,

We miss you already and aren’t quite sure what to do without you.  Immediately our lives have changed and the profound sadness we feel is debilitating.  You were an incredible Mom. You had a tremendous impact on us, and we wish we could tell you one more time how much we love you.

You were so loved and we hope you know that.  We hope you know you were the best of everything.  Mom, Mother-in law, Sister, Sister in law, Grandmother, Great- Grandmother, Aunt, Cousin, Friend, Best Friend and confidant.  You lived a full life seeing the beauty in everything and made sure everyone felt special.  You had a gracious heart and generous spirit. You loved beautiful things.  You loved shopping, the smell of lilacs and fresh flowers.  You loved your family, your friends and life.

You spent the last 5 years caring for your husband without complaint.  You were stronger than strong, you were superwoman.  You made sure everyone was taken care of before you.  The true definition of strength.

We weren’t prepared for this, but we can promise you that we will live out your wishes and ensure we carry on your legacy with strength a thoughtful heart, a caring spirit and never-ending generosity.  You were the strongest woman we know.  On this day June 7, 2021, our lives changed forever as you lost your short courageous battle with cancer and passed peacefully with your family by your side.

You were born in Saint John NB and are predeceased by your father Ronald Henderson and mother Margaret Henderson and brother Kenneth Henderson.

You leave behind your husband, David “Corkey” Craig; your sons, David (Kim) Craig and Steven Craig (Stephanie).  You leave behind your heartbroken sister, Donna (Danny) Adams.  Your grandchildren who you loved immensely, Alex (Katie), Allyson and Matthew.  Your great grand children; Autumn, Isabella and Kylie.  The apples of your eye.  Your best friend, Mary, your confidant, your hairdresser and lover of nails.  You leave behind your special girl, your God Daughter and baking companion, Ashley, (Andrew and Avery), your sister-in-law, Susan Henderson and your niece Melissa and nephew Justin.  You leave behind your brother-in-law Ralph (Carol); sisters-in-law Eleanor, Bev (Joe) and Susan.  Brother-in-law, Grant(Esther).  Nieces and nephews, Patty Jo, Jeff, Kellieann, Kevin, Kelly Ann, Dwaine and Heather, Nathan, Cory, Trina and Christa along with many great nieces and great nephews whom you spoke so highly of.  You also leave behind your fur babies, Tammy and Lady; and your Fur Grandbaby, Finn.

We would like to extend  thanks to Dr. Michael and the Drs and nurses on 5AS for their tremendous support and loving care to our Mother.  A special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Greer for finally finding the answer we longed for.  We will never forget you.

As per our Moms wishes there will be no funeral or service.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made if you wish, to Bobby’s Hospice in memory of Carol.  Thank you to everyone. To her family and friends for showing up and helping at moments notice.

Our mother was touched by all of you.

Our lives will never be the same Mom, but we promise to take it one day at a time, moment by moment.  Like you always said.

Good night Mom, we promise to do you proud.

Until we meet again,
David and Steven
