Carl Michael Olsen

The family of Carl Michael Olsen would like to thank everyone for their prayers, support, and expressions of sympathy during this difficult time.  Your kindness has been deeply appreciated!

With deep love and great sadness, the family of Carl Michael Olsen announces his passing at his home on November 28, 2025, while holding his wife’s hand — exactly where he wanted to be.

Born on December 11, 1952, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Carl was the son of the late Carl W. and Yolanda T. (Quinn) Olsen.

Carl is survived by his devoted wife, Helene Olsen; his son Mark (Krista) Olsen; his cherished granddaughter Brooklin; his grand dog Diesel; and his sisters Gertrude “Sue” (Doyle) Olsen, Pamela Hunter, and Patricia (Richard) Gauthier along with his mother in-law Mémère  . He was predeceased by his parents, his daughter Michelle, his sister Ruth Olsen-Mahoney, and his brother Tony Olsen.

Carl lived a life defined by movement, teamwork, and community. In his younger years he was an enthusiastic athlete, proudly playing catcher for the Vikings as part of the RABA League.

He later spent many great seasons playing touch football with the Trojans and enjoyed pick-up basketball with friends whenever he could. As the years went on, Carl found new circles of friendship and competition through pool and darts at the Legion — a place where he felt completely at home.

Visitation will be held at Fundy Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 2nd, beginning at 1:00 PM until the start of the funeral liturgy in the Fundy Chapel at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
