Brian Furlong

It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Brian Paul Furlong, of Saint John, NB,
husband of Cindy (Bourque) Furlong, on Monday, November 10, 2025 at the age of 71. He was the son
of the late Benedict and Inez (Donovan) Furlong. He was a proud member of the carpenters Union Local
1386.

Brian had a gift for lighting up every room he walked into with his smile, laugh and easygoing nature that
made everyone feel welcome and at home. Loving, caring and always ready for a good joke, he could
make someone smile even on their worst day. He was always ready for friendly competition with his
family and friends while playing crib where his quick wit always shone through. A devoted Maple Leaf’s
fan, Brian cheered for his team through every high and low, never losing faith that this year would
be the one. But above all things, Brian enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great
grandson the most.

Besides his wife of 14 years, he leaves behind his children: Charlene Furlong, Tanya Furlong, Ashley
Furlong, Erica Furlong (Tyson Sherrard); stepdaughters: Shana and Natasha; grandchildren: Brooke
Furlong, Aubree Vickers, Hudson Furlong, Autumn Vickers; step grandchildren: Brooklyn, Jayda, Peyton,
Tenley; one great grandson: Hayden Furlong; brothers: Terry (Rose) and Sterling (Doris); sisters: Helen,
Rosalie (Ken), Glenna (Borden), Elaine, Carlene (Gilbert), Donna and Sharon; his good friend and
neighbour: Scotty; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Brian was predeceased by his parents and siblings: Willis, Allison, Norman, Madeline, Joan and Verly.

The family will receive visitors at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd, Saint John, NB, E2J 2G3, on
Friday, November 14, 2025, from 2-4 & 6-8pm. The family will receive visitors again on Saturday,
November 15, 2025, at St. Bridget’s Roman Catholic Church, Renous, NB, from 2-4 & 6-8pm. Mass of
Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 11 o’clock at St. Bridget’s Roman
Catholic Church with Fr. Paul Doucet officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
