Brenda Lee Smith

Sadly, the family of Brenda Lee Smith, life partner to James Garnett, announce her passing which occurred on September 14, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Born in Saint John on December 15, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Frank Smith and Marilyn (Lavoie) Dickison.

Brenda is survived by her daughter Shyanne Smith and her father James Garnett, her brother Frank Smith, and her grandchildren, Johnathan Smith McCann, Eric Smith McCann, Mason Smith McCann and Destiny Smith.  She also leaves behind her aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Brenda worked in various retail roles and in homecare.  She enjoyed cooking and caring for others, playing darts with her friends and shopping with her family.  The most important thing in life to Brenda was her daughter, Shyanne, and her grandchildren.

 Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424).  Visiting will be held on Wednesday from 6-8pm.  The funeral service will take place at the Fundy Chapel at 10:30am on Thursday, September 18, 2025.  Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery.  Remembrances made to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
