It is with heavy hearts the family of Brenda Joyce Rice, wife of the late Arthur Rice, wish to announce her passing, which occurred on May 7, 2021 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on November 25, 1951 she was the daughter of the late Angus and Eunice (McKay) Beveridge.
She was a long time employee of Xerox Canada, where she spent the majority of her working years and retiring in 2018.
She is survived by her son Scott (Jennifer) Estey, her sister Betty, grandchildren; Courtney (Justin), Brooklyn, Addison and Carter, great-grandchildren; Max and Allie along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Arthur, and her parents Angus and Eunice, she was predeceased by her brothers; Bob and Bill and sister Bonnie.
Her family meant everything to her, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed her getaways and card nights with Debbie, Sue, Gail, Shelly, Nancy, and Kathy.
The family would like to thank Dr. Michaels and the Palliative Care Team at the SJRH. Thanks to the Palliative Care nurses who took such great care of her, especially Carolyn, Deb, Rosanne, Cheyanne, Darlene, Krista, and Jennifer. Special thanks to long time friend and neighbor, Pastor Edward Powell.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road with visitation on Monday May 10th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday May 11th at 2:00 p.m. Due to the current pandemic and public health restrictions seating is limited. Friends are asked to RVSP by calling 646-2424. The family interment will take place at the Lorneville Community Cemetery at a later date.
